What is safeguarding?

Safeguarding is the process of promoting the wellbeing & welfare of children and vulnerable adults by protecting them from abuse, maltreatment, and harm, ensuring safe care and enabling optimal outcomes. It focuses on individuals who may suffer significant harm and includes procedures for handling concerns. (NSPCC)
